WELCOME TO THE BIBLICAL CITY
The Biblical City began in 1997 with a small
group of
Homemakers who were looking for a club project
The first city consisted of eleven scenes and a few
animals stationed near a manger.
It was a gift from the club to the community
and all were invited with no admission charge.
Hundreds poured through the humbling city
and
it was evident that the Biblical City should be
a part of the Christmas tradition in
Calhoun County.
The growth of the city has been phenomenal
and is
now an entity of its own drawing its life from
Churches, organizations and dedicated
individuals throughout the county.
Because it offers a priceless experience
to all who enter the gates, there is no admission.
The Biblical City operates strictly
through donations in money , time and talents.
Biblical City Spice Tea
1 Cup Instant Tea
2 Cups Tang
3 cups Sugar
1 T. Cinnamon
1 T. Ground Cloves
Mix all ingredients and store in airtight container.
Use 2 or 3 teaspoons in one cup hot water.
THE BIBLICAL CITY is held in Pittsboro, Mississippi at the Calhoun County Fairgrounds on Thursday thru Saturday during the first week of December each year. The opening time is 6:00 PM and closing time is 8:30 PM. The list of scenes has grown to approximately 70 in year 2000 with a cast of hundreds. A Passion Play is one of the main scenes. Thousands attend each year. Parking is free and a shuttle bus is available. Handicapped access is available.
